On October 10, the kickoff meeting of the China-EU agricultural flagship project was held in Xiamen. Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in August 2025 with joint China-EU (Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Belgium) support, this four-year project secured Chinese funding of RMB 40.1 million and EU funding of EUR 6 million, making it the largest internationally-funded sci-tech cooperation project secured by Xiamen in nearly a decade. Aligned with China's rural revitalization and sustainable development strategies, it addresses major technological needs for next-generation sustainable business models and monitoring systems targeting rural resilience and innovation through comprehensive collaborative research.
10月10日，国家重点研发计划政府间科技创新合作专项中国-欧盟农业旗舰项目启动会在厦举行。该项目于今年8月获得科技部立项，由中国和欧盟（德国、荷兰、西班牙、瑞典、比利时）联合支持，建设期4年。中方获批资助经费4010万元人民币，欧方获批资助经费600万欧元，为厦门市近10年来所获支持力度最大的国际科技合作项目。项目将围绕加快推进我国乡村振兴和可持续发展的国家战略需求，面向农村韧性和创新的新一代可持续商业模式及监测的重大科技需求，开展全链条和全方位合作研究。

Schneider Electric's Xiamen industrial park in the Torch (Xiang'an) Industrial Zone will complete construction and commence operations next year. Spanning over 140,000 square meters, more than double its original facility size, the park houses globally unique automated, intelligent, and flexible production lines. Upon completion, it will become Schneider Electric's largest global medium-voltage electrical equipment production base, serving worldwide markets through its "triple-core functions": a globally significant medium-voltage R&D center, manufacturing hub, and supply chain base. Since establishing operations in 2005, Schneider Electric has deeply integrated into Xiamen’s innovation ecosystem, developing full-cycle R&D and manufacturing capabilities that energize regional power transmission/distribution industries. For nearly two decades, Torch Group has partnered with Schneider Electric across infrastructure support, green initiatives, and construction management, providing robust, full-chain operational backing for the company’s development in Xiamen.

Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian Province has recently been honored with two new accolades, once again ranking among the top 10 in the "Amazing China — The Most Attractive Chinese Cities in the Eyes of Foreign Talents" and being included in the inaugural selection of "Employment-friendly Cities".
On September 28th, the survey findings of 2024 "Amazing China — The Most Attractive Chinese Cities in the Eyes of Foreign Talents" were released at the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou International Human Resources Exchange and Cooperation Conference in East China's Zhejiang Province. Xiamen once again ranked among the top 10 cities.The initiative conducts a quantitative analysis of foreign talent evaluations based on job satisfaction, daily life convenience, and environmental friendliness. This analysis gauges the overall attractiveness of Chinese cities to foreign professionals.According to the Foreign Talent Attractiveness Index of Chinese Cities 2024, foreign professionals are most concerned with a city's economic development and living convenience, while expressing the highest level of satisfaction with the social environment. Xiamen has established a multi-tiered, extensive, and robust talent policy system. The strength of these measures places it at the forefront of peer cities in China, and they are consistently open and applicable to foreign talent.
Xiamen has been included on the first batch of "Employment-friendly Cities" list, distinguishing itself from 50 candidate cities at the recent "City-Enterprise Collaboration for Employment Friendliness" launch event in Beijing.Xiamen secured its place in the first list through a series of measures, including refined employment policies, improved public services, harmonious labor relations, and an integrated talent service chain, which have garnered acclaim at the national level.
近日，厦门又荣获两项荣誉。厦门再次位列“魅力中国-外籍人才眼中最具吸引力的中国城市”前十以及入选“就业友好城市”首批名单。
9月28日，在杭州国际人才交流和项目合作大会开幕式上发布2024年度“魅力中国-外籍人才眼中最具吸引力的中国城市”主题活动成果，其中厦门再次位列“魅力中国-外籍人才眼中最具吸引力的中国城市”前十。主题活动从工作满意度、生活便利度、环境友好度三个维度对外籍人才的评价进行量化分析，反映中国城市对外籍人才的综合吸引力。根据2024年度中国城市外籍人才吸引力指数，外籍人才最关注城市经济发展和生活便利，对社会环境的满意度最高。目前，厦门市已建立多层次、广覆盖、大力度的人才政策体系，措施力度位居国内同类城市前列，并始终对外籍人才开放适用。
“城企协同·共促就业友好”发布会近日在京举办，厦门从50城中脱颖而出，入选首批“就业友好城市”名单。厦门凭借近年来在优化就业政策、提升公共服务、和谐劳动关系以及构建人才发展服务链条等方面的多项举措，成功入选首批名单，获得全国层面的认可。

On October 12, the "Charming Xiamen" integrated foreign talent service platform was officially launched. To attract and pool international talent, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security innovated foreign talent service measures by collaborating with the Foreign Talent Research Center, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It established the "Charming Xiamen" channel at chinajob.com, creating a comprehensive service platform for foreign talents coming to Xiamen. The platform showcases Xiamen's urban landscape in English, releases and interprets preferential talent policies, hosts online recruitment, provides life information such as education and healthcare, and shares stories of foreign talents in Xiamen, all to enhance Xiamen's global talent attraction and influence. As China’s first national-level integrated foreign talent service platform, chinajob.com has nearly 70,000 registered users from over 170 countries and regions, with cumulative page views exceeding 10 million, and its global influence continues to rise. It has launched city channels for Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and others besides Xiamen.

On the first anniversary of Google Cross-border E-commerce Acceleration Center launching, the strategic upgrade of Google’s cross-border e-commerce acceleration program was formally released in Xiamen on the 15th. Moving forward, the center will increase focus on AI empowerment to help export-oriented enterprises reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and boost global competitiveness. As the first offline support center under this program, it continually empowers Xiamen and neighboring regional e-commerce firms to expand internationally. Over the past year, the center hosted over 150 direct-to-consumer (DTC) training sessions. Google Cross-border E-commerce Acceleration Center is a key collaborative project developed in Xiamen. With overseas consumers increasingly favoring direct purchases via brand websites, the DTC model has become vital for global brand-building, profit growth, and sustainable expansion. To leverage this trend, Google launched its cross-border e-commerce acceleration program in 2024, establishing the inaugural acceleration center in Xiamen that October.
在谷歌跨境电商加速中心成立一周年之际，谷歌跨境电商加速计划战略升级15日在厦门正式发布。未来中心将更聚焦AI赋能，帮助出海企业降本增效，提升国际竞争力。作为“谷歌跨境电商加速计划”发布后落地的首个线下支持中心，该中心持续赋能厦门及周边区域跨境电商企业拓展全球业务。过去一年来，中心累计举办超过150场独立站（DTC）培训课程。谷歌跨境电商加速中心是厦门多方共同打造的跨境电商重点项目。伴随海外消费者日益倾向于通过品牌官网直接购物，DTC模式已成为出海企业打造品牌、提升利润、实现可持续增长的关键路径。为把握这一趋势，谷歌于2024年启动“跨境电商加速计划”，并于同年10月在厦门落地首个跨境电商加速中心。

In the first three quarters of this year, Xiamen achieved import-export volume totaling RMB 712.61 billion, a 3% year-on-year increase. Exports performed notably, reaching RMB 402.15 billion with 9.4% growth, outpacing both Fujian Province and national averages. Private enterprises excelled, recording foreign trade of RMB 393.28 billion, a 15.4% rise, accounting for 55.2% of Xiamen’s total trade volume and providing core support for steady growth. Foreign-invested enterprises handled RMB 169.66 billion (up 3.2%, 23.8% share), while state-owned enterprises accounted for RMB 149.49 billion (21% share). Xiamen traded with 230 countries and regions across five continents during this period. ASEAN, the EU, and the US were top three partners, collectively representing 44.1% of total trade volume, with trade to ASEAN and the EU maintaining growth. Xiamen’s exports to non-US markets rose 15.1% overall, including over 20% growth to Belt and Road partner countries and double-digit growth to RCEP members and fellow BRICS nations. Exports to Africa and Latin America surged 48.7% and 17.7% respectively, demonstrating enhanced trade resilience.
今年前三季度，厦门市实现进出口7126.1亿元，增长3%，其中出口表现亮眼，出口4021.5亿元，增长9.4%，增速高于全省、全国。民营企业表现亮眼。前三季度，厦门市民营企业外贸进出口额达到3932.8亿元，增长15.4%，占进出口总值的55.2%，为外贸平稳增长提供核心支撑。前三季度，外商投资企业进出口1696.6亿元，增长3.2%，占23.8%；国有企业进出口1494.9亿元，占21%。今年前三季度，厦门市贸易伙伴遍布五大洲230个国家和地区。东盟、欧盟、美国是前三大贸易伙伴，合计占进出口总值44.1%，其中，对东盟、欧盟外贸进出口保持增长。厦门市对非美市场出口整体增长15.1%。其中，对“一带一路”共建国家出口增长超两成，对RCEP成员国、其他金砖国家出口均实现两位数增长，对非洲、拉美出口分别增长48.7%、17.7%，外贸韧性持续加强。

The 20th China Xiamen International Buddhist Items & Crafts Fair (Autumn Edition) and China Xiamen International Tea Industry Fair 2025 (Autumn Edition) commenced at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center on October 16. The China Xiamen International Buddhist Items & Crafts Fair spans 115,000 square meters with over 1,500 participating brands; the Tea Fair occupies 80,000 square meters across 3,800 standard booths, attracting more than 1,500 renowned domestic and international tea enterprises. Concurrently held alongside these events are the China Xiamen International Incense Industry Fair 2025 (Autumn Edition), China Xiamen International Vegetarian Food and Organic Products Fair 2025 (Autumn Edition), and China Xiamen International Tea Packaging & Design Fair 2025 (Autumn Edition).
第二十届中国厦门国际佛事用品（秋季）展览会、2025中国厦门国际茶产业（秋季）博览会，10月16日在厦门国际会展中心开幕。此次佛事用品展面积达到11.5万平方米，1500多个品牌同时亮相；拥有3800个国际标准展位的茶博会面积达8万平方米，超过1500家境内外知名茶企前来参展。除了佛事用品展和茶博会外，2025厦门国际香产业（秋季）博览会、2025中国厦门素食暨有机产品（秋季）展览会、2025中国厦门国际茶包装设计（秋季）展览会同期举行。
